McLeod's Daughters star Marshall Napier has passed away at the age of 70 following a short battle with brain cancer.
His daughter Jessica Napier, who also starred on McLeod's Daughters, shared the sad news on Instagram on Sunday.
"It is with great sadness that I share the passing of my beautiful dad Marshall Napier," she wrote. "After a short and intense battle with brain cancer he left us this morning. He was peaceful and surrounded by family."
She then shared a tribute to her father, adding, "Dad you are one of a kind and I can’t even understand what the world will be like without you in it. Your charisma and charm was second to none.
"Your creativity and intellect was my inspiration. I love you so much and feel completely lost without you. I’m glad that you can soar free of the pain and confusion. Love you always, Dinky xxxx."
While he was best known as Harry Ryan on McLeod's Daughters, Marshall worked on a number of classic Aussie shows, including All Saints, Stingers, City Homicide, Love Child and Jack Irish.
Packed to the Rafters star Erik Thompson commented, "Oh dearest Jess I am so sorry. What a man. This is big. He was such an inspiration to so many. Please wrap yourself and your family in a massive hug from us. V sad."
Former Home and Away star Charlie Clausen said, "Jess, I’m so sorry. I loved working with your dad. He was so generous with his time when I was just starting out in my career. He also had such a great sense of humour. Condolences to you and your family."
McLeod's Daughters' Bridie Carter added, "Dearest beautiful Jess, my thoughts, love, prayers to you, your brothers, sister and Tash. Can’t believe your wonderful Dad is gone. May your broken heart be cradled with love. Thinking of you and sending love to Marshall - free now... All my love to you."
Patrick Brammall wrote, "Oh no Jess. I’m so sad to hear it. He was a beautiful man. All my love to you x."
Rebecca Gibney also added, "So sorry for your loss Jess. Marshall was such a beautiful man and a wonderful actor. Sending much love."
Fans also shared their support, with one user writing, "I am just sitting here watching McLeod's Daughters for about the 5th time with my 15-year-old daughter. I watched it for the first time when I was pregnant with her.
"Your Dad will always be Harry Ryan to us and as someone who lost their Dad too soon to cancer - I send all our love and eventually you won't forget but it will get easier."
"Oh Jessica, I'm so sorry for the loss of your father," another wrote. "We wish you and your family lots of strength and love."
