Anything for Agatha All Along? –Lena
When I asked each of the cast members to name their favorite episodes and offer two to three words about why, Debra Jo Rupp (who plays Sharon) pointed us to Episode 3, citing “prosthetics,” while Ali Ahn (who plays Alice) singled out Episode 6, because… “bar mitzvah.”

I’m sending this Sunday at 9 pm. Am I the first to ask for scoop about Matlock? –Deb
As a matter of fact, yes! It appears this has now leaked onto the actress’ IMDb page (sigh), but Marnee Carpenter (of CBS’ Clarice, and who more recently guested on an April NCIS; see photo) is set to play Matty’s dearly departed daughter Ellie, via flashbacks in at least one episode.
In how many Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 episodes we will see Schmitt and Yasuda before they leave? —Jean
Showrunner Meg Marinis won’t say, exactly. But “what I can tell you is that those characters’ story arcs will always honor the characters that we’ve begun.” Better still, Jake Borelli and Midori Francis’ exits won’t be the last that we see of them.
Any scoop on the new female member of S.W.A.T., and her romantic life outside of work? –Adriana
Devin Gamble (played by Annie Ilonzeh) “comes from a questionable family” that “has done some stuff,” showrunner Andrew Dettmann told me, and as such, some “drama” will unfold as that becomes known to those besides Hondo. There’s no romance on tap for Gamble just yet; instead, expect to get insight into newcomer Alfaro’s “reckless” love life. “He seems to be attracted to chaos in women,” Dettmann teased.
Will Amazon Prime’s Cross be a serialized show or will it be more episodic? –Ivan
I am several episodes into the Aldis Hodge-led James Patterson adaptation (all eight episodes drop Nov. 14), and it is very serialized — with two ongoing mysteries spanning the season.
I recently devoured the first two seasons of Sky Atlantic and AMC’s Gangs of London and need more. Can you tell us when we can expect to see Season 3 Stateside? –Angel
I am hearing that Season 3 should land on AMC during the first half of 2025.
Will NCIS be setting McGee up for promotion to the executive ranks, especially after he did so well filling in for Vance in the previous two seasons? –Charlie
McGee this season will be “angling for a deputy director position,” says showrunner Steven D. Binder, though, “being the investigative hound that Tim is, he’s going to sniff something on the way to this journey. He’s going to see that something is not right in the halls of government around him.”
Is there a chance that anyone from NCIS: LA will be showing up in Season 22 of NCIS? –Maria
When I ran into Eric Christian Olsen at a Matlock press event, I did ask if seeing LL Cool J’s Sam join NCIS: Hawaii got him jonesing to reprise his own NCIS: LA role, as Marty Deeks. “I actively miss Todd, and I was texting with Renee [Felice Smith] this morning, and I see [sister-in-law] Daniela [Ruah] all the time…,” he shared. That said, he says he finds himself “not so much” wanting to play Deeks again, but tends to mentally insert himself into “these really good, dramatic or funny scenes” on Matlock, where he is an EP, “because they’re so beautiful.”
I’m still waiting for a release date for The Couple Next Door. WHEN???? –Judi
The British psychological thriller starring Outlander‘s Sam Heughan, Arrow‘s Jessica De Gouw, Poldark‘s Eleanor Tomlinson and HTGAWM‘s Alfred Enoch is currently expected to arrive Stateside this winter, on Starz.
After the Chicago Fire finale revealed that Damon and Kelly are half-brothers through Benny, are there plans to bring back Benny’s daughter, Katie Nolan (played by Brittany Curran)? –Amaani
There’s “always a possibility” that we’ll see Katie again since “[she’s] part of the family,” showrunner Andrea Newman says, before cautioning that Katie is “not really related to any of the current Damon drama, in terms of what Severide’s dealing with.”
I’ll take any scoop you have on NBC’s Found! This show has single-handedly got me back into watching primetime television live each week! –Ashli
Season 2 (premiering Thursday, Oct. 3) will, among other things, tap into “the experience of Black women in hospitals and under medical care, and some of the challenges around that area for us,” says showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll, as well as explore neurodiversity, “especially in young Black boys.”
Do you know anything about the European release plan for Season 4 of Snowpiercer? So far clouds have been thick and only snow has been forecast. Hoping you could give some clearing on when we are able to finish up the series across the pond without having to change tracks. –Marc
I appreciate your extended metaphor, but there is nothing yet to report on that front. Season 4 is, though, available in the Netherlands (via Amazon), Greece (Cosmote) and Belgium (DPG), and will launch soon in Lithuania (Telia Lietuva).
How many episodes will there be in first seasons of ABC’s High Potential and Doctor Odyssey? –Mason
I am hearing that High Potential (which airs Episode 2 tonight) is starting off with the usual 13-episode freshman order, whereas Ryan Murphy’s Doctor Odyssey (premiering Thursday) has set a course for 18 episodes.
I’m loving the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectuel airing on Hulu. It might be too early to tell, but any plans yet for the fourth season to air Stateside? –Leah
With ABC’s port, High Potential, now launched, you can expect HPI Season 4 to be available to stream on Hulu later this fall.
Any updates on SurrealEstate on Syfy? Has it been cancelled or will it return? –Barb
Filming on Season 3 began this month, not long after Tim Rozon’s Wynonna Earp: Vengeance movie debuted on Tubi. “I’ve read some amazing stuff” about what’s ahead for Luke and the Roman Agency, Rozon told me. “I’m very excited.”
I know there’s a lot of excitement around Jesse Lee Soffer joining FBI: International, but do you have any scoop on other characters? Andre, Amanda, Smitty, Vo? –Stephanie
And how! Smitty will embark on bit of a personal awakening early in Season 4 (premiering Oct. 15); Tate once again has to brave the field, risking her life in the process; Vo must navigate her new partnership with Soffer’s Mitchell; and Raines solidifies himself as a confidante to all members of the Fly Team.
Any scoop on Fire Country Season 3? –Caio
Above and beyond whatever becomes of her and Diego’s helicopter-crashed wedding in the Oct. 18 premiere, “Gabriela is going to really examine how her family of origin, being Manny and Roberta, affects who she is, and how she views relationship,” says showrunner Tia Napolitano. (Meaning, you should expect to see Paola Núñez again.) Additionally, Gabi “is really going to lean into firefighting and succeeding in that area, very hard.”
I am getting excited about Jensen Ackles‘ return to Tracker and Jared Padalecki’s move to Fire Country! Been a fan of both those guys for a very, very long time! Any idea when they are going to show up on CBS? —Sara
Ackles is scheduled to make his second Tracker appearance in the second episode of Season 2 (airing Oct. 20), while Padalecki was recently seen on the Fire Country set, suggesting his debut as SoCal firefighter Camden Casey won’t be too deep into Season 3.
Do you know what happened to Mysteries Decoded Season 3? I think it was supposed to premiere this fall…. –Christi

Lisa Hamilton Daly, EVP of Programming for Hallmark Media, told me at the summer TCA press tour that at least some of the made-for-Hallmark+ content will eventually get a linear premiere.
Anything you can give us on Superman & Lois Season 4 (premiering Oct. 7)? –Brendan
If I may end this column with a bang…. I am hearing that the Superman & Lois series finale will do something that no previous Man of Steel-themed TV series or movie has ever done before. So… chew on that for the next few months.
