Fans left baffled by MasterChef star's mystery disappearance
MasterChef fans were left scratching their heads last night when fan favourite Sarah Clare vanished from the show.
The contestants started their Melbourne suburbs week with a bang, cooking up a storm with a Thai feast for a room of hungry diners, with the orange team winning over the judges’ approval.
However, NSW mum, Sarah Clare was noticeably absent from the line-up and no explanation was given to viewers about her mystery disappearance.
Sarah’s no-show didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who took to Facebook to question where the Tassie-born contestant went to.
“Not sure where’s Sarah C,” one fans wrote on a fan site, with people commenting saying that maybe the 33-year-old was sick.
“If she’s sick, she will definitely go into the Pressure Test Challenge tomorrow,” one person commented, however Channel 10 have posted a photo of the pressure test set to air tonight and Sarah Clare isn’t featured.
“There was an extra person on one team so she is sitting out. If they win, she is safe but if they go to elimination she has to cook,” another person chimed in, claiming Sarah wasn’t as experienced as the rest of the team at cooking Thai food.
While Sarah has remained quiet on her surprising disappearance, she uploaded a story to her Instagram, regramming a photo from MasterChef 2018 contestant Michelle Walsh, which shows the pair of them drinking an espresso martini.
“Missing in action during the group challenge?” Michelle captioned the snap.
On Monday, Sarah revealed that in 2018, when she was eliminated from season 10 of the show, she was struggling with being separated from her three-year-old son, Elvis.
“I was away for my son's third birthday, which just broke me,” she told Now To Love.
“I mentally checked out from that day, and only days later I was eliminated.”
Sarah’s unexplained absence comes after it was revealed that fellow contestant Ben Ungermann was removed from the show following a police matter.
“We can confirm Ben Ungermann has left the MasterChef Australia competition. As this is a police matter, we will not be making further comment,” the spokesman said, according to news.com.au.
One fan took to Ben’s Instagram to ask how the producers will edit him out and he replied saying: “That’s up to MasterChef Australia. Appreciate the support,.”
