Masterchef's Laura Sharrad 'not okay' after receiving 'disturbing' message
MasterChef star Laura Sharrad has revealed she is "not okay" after receiving a "disturbing" private message on her Instagram account.
The MasterChef: All Stars runner-up didn't say what exactly was in the message but shared it made her feel "sick" and "violated".
“Today I opened a really disturbing message sent to me on Instagram,” the 25-year-old wrote.
“It was something no woman should ever have to read. I feel so sick. I feel violated. I feel unsafe. I feel disgusted. I feel a lot of things. All of them bad things. Simply, it’s not okay.
“I thought about posting this all afternoon as I rarely share things about how I’m actually feeling. This is meant to be a happy place. Today I am not okay.”
Laura first appeared on Aussie TV screens in MasterChef Season Six at just 19 years of age, before returning last year for the Back to Win series.
She came second after Emilia Jackson, from Melbourne took out the top spot, taking home the trophy and $250,000.
While devastated over her original loss, she went on to work as a pastry chef alongside now judge Jock Zonfrillo at his hatted restaurant, Orana, in South Australia.

She then moved on to work at Andres Cucina and Hently Farm in the Barossa Valley before opening up her own restaurant, with her husband and fellow chef Max Sharrad, in 2019, called Nido Bar and Pasta.
Laura Sharrad was repeatedly called out for making too many pasta dishes during the most recent season by viewers on social media.
But she quickly hit back at trolls at the time saying: "We've all got our specialties,” she told TV Week.
“And I do own a pasta restaurant so it would be weird if I didn't cook pasta on the show.”
