Married At First Sight's Tash has made the heartbreaking announcement that she and girlfriend Madison Hewitt have called it quits.

The reality star shared the news on Instagram in a lengthy statement, saying the breakup was a mutual decision.

She wrote, "Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know that Madison and I have ended our relationship. I understand it was in the public eye and a lot of you are curious and concerned and I really want to thank you for your support and care.

"Even though I share a lot of myself on here, break ups are quite personal and not something I will be publicly discussing in any more detail than this.”

She continued, "We still have infinite love, respect and kindness towards each other as people and it would mean so much to both of us if you would respect our healing/grieving process by not asking probing questions as they will not be answered nor given any attention regardless.

"Please remember we are just normal humans like you guys and move through the pain of break ups exactly the same way so understanding our desire for privacy on this subject could mean everything. So much love."

Daily Mail reports that the pair had been forced to separate due to coronavirus border closures, so it's unsure if they'd been able to see each other since March.

Tash has been self-isolating in Adelaide and Madison has been staying on the Gold Coast.

In April, Tash shared a photo of herself and Madison, clearly missing her girlfriend, she wrote, "The dark, dark things I would do to sit on my girlfriends lap with a margarita."

The pair first went public with their relationship in February, just days after Tash's TV wedding to Amanda Micallef aired on MAFS.
