MAFS' Martha and Michael: 'The truth about our breakup'

They found love on reality show Married At First Sight, but now Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have set the record straight on their relationship.

In a YouTube video titled ‘The truth about our breakup,’ the pair addressed persistent split rumours head on.

It looks like the celeb couple are still very much together - well, we think so, anyway.

“Seeing as everyone thinks we have broken up, I've been thinking, ‘I wonder what girls are writing to him in his [Instagram] direct messages?’” Martha, 31, said at the beginning of the clip.

She then goes on to surprise Michael, 27, by demanding to see his iPhone.

After scrolling through his private messages, Martha failed to find any trace of Michael flirting with other women, proving the primary school teacher has indeed been staying true to his lady love.

Instead of being relieved and happy, the brunette babe was surprisingly disappointed.

“I kind of feel like, ew. No one wants you, what am I doing with you?” she joked.

“Anyway, so the reason we broke up is because I don't get enough DMs from other women wanting me,” Michael quipped.

He went on to add that if the tables were turned and he’d asked to see Martha’s DMs there “would have been World War III.”

Breakup or fake up?

Whispers that the ‘married’ couple had called it quits began a few days before the ‘breakup’ video went live on Martha’s YouTube channel.

A source close to the pair told New Idea that they were reportedly holding on by a thread.

“Martha is only focused on two things at the moment - her YouTube channel and increasing her Instagram followers,” said the source.

“Her relationship with Michael is at the bottom of her priority list.”

But if their loved-up video is anything to go by, all is peachy between the two.

“It’s safe to say that I’m your favourite girlfriend,” Martha said at the end of the clip.

“You’re pretty good to me,” Michael agreed.
