After last week's discovery that Instagram has blocked the hashtag #curvy, users are hitting back by posting under #curvee instead.

Instagram users took to their accounts over the weekend to share their positive body messages under the new hashtag - as well as a few others including #bringcurvyback, #everybodyisbeautiful, sending a clear message that they won't be silenced.

Curve model Olivia Wilson took to the social networking site to share her support for the campaign, writing: "#BringCurvyBack because Instagram banned it. #Curvee #WilhelminaCurve."

Another user, Jade Goucher wrote: "My curves are a part of who I am, they help make me beautiful. I may not have the ideal body, but I'm comfortable the way I am most of the time and am learning to love myself. Curves are beautiful."

When asked about why they have blocked #curvy in the first place, a spokesperson for Instagram confirmed that the hashtag had been blocked for violating community guidelines.

"I can confirm that we did block the hashtag #curvy. It was being used to share content that violates our guidelines around nudity," they said. "Please note that the block has nothing to do with the term 'curvy' itself."
