Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Give Rare Joint Interview

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt sat down for a rare joint interview to promote their new film, By The Sea.

In the emotional interview, Brad praises his wife after her surgery to have a double mastectomy and her ovaries removed following a cancer scare in 2013 after she discovered she carried the BRCA1 gene, which significantly increases a woman’s chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

"There was no vanity to my wife's approach. It was mature," he gushed. "There was a strength in that. It was just another one of those things in life that makes you tighter and she was doing it for the kids, and she was doing it for her family so we could be together."

Ange also had nothing but praise for her partner of ten years, and how they tacked the challenge head on.

"I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn't something where I was gonna feel less of a woman because my husband wasn't going to let that happen."

"To face these issues together and speak about them and talk about what it is to be human, I think can be a beautiful thing."

Ange revealed that she used the same doctor who had previously treated her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 1999 at the age of 56.

"The doctor that did my ovary surgery was my mother's doctor," she explained. "And apparently my mother had said to her, ‘Promise me you will take Angie's ovaries out.’

"So when we kind of got together, we both had a big cry, and she said, 'I promised your mother, and I gotta do this.'"

The couple also joked around about married life, and Ange's skills in the kitchen.

"Every three months I'll say, 'Honey, I think I should learn how to cook,'" to which they both crack up.

"I just humour it," joked Brad. "But really, she has no business in the kitchen."
