Gwyneth started it all with Goop. Then came Jessica Alba with The Honest Company and Blake Lively with her ‘all-things-artisan’ Preserve. Now Reese Witherspoon is the latest actress in a line of would-be homemakers to launch an e-commerce lifestyle website, Draper James.

The site, which was named after her grandparents, is very much inspired by her Southern heritage. In a welcome video posted on the site, Witherspoon says it was a passion project, “inspired by my love of the South, combined with the modern woman who I am today.”

Draper James is all about the grace and charm I was raised with in Nashville Tennessee. In the South, you can never be too kind, too gracious or too well dressed,” she continues. “With Draper James, our goal is to bring you contemporary, yet timeless Southern style to your wardrobe and your home, no matter where you live.”

The site sells everything from clothing (tops, dresses, skirts and more) and stationery, to jewellery and accessories (including our favourite: a fabulous tote emblazoned with “Totes y’all").

Witherspoon told WWD that 40 per cent of Draper James products are produced in the South and they plan to roll our five new collections every year.
