Yahoo Lifestyle Margot Robbie Named Breakout Star Of 2014

It’s been a good year for Margot Robbie. 2014 has seen the 24-year old Gold Coast-born actress star in blockbusters (Academy Award-nominated The Wolf Of Wall Street) and heartwarming rom-coms (Richard Curtis’ About Time opposite Bill Nighy and Rachel McAdams) as well as head into production for a suite of attention-grabbing projects (Focus opposite Will Smith and a live-action Tarzan playing Jane to Alexander Skarsgaard’s Tarzan).
We’re not the only ones who noticed Robbie’s stellar year. Film database IMDB named her their top breakout star of 2014. Robbie placed third on their overall list, ranking behind fellow actresses Shailene Woodley and Jennifer Lawrence, who surprised no-one by taking out the top spot.
Robbie’s Wolf Of Wall Street co-star Leonardo DiCaprio was the highest ranking man on the list at number 11.
With three big-budget and very buzzy films to release in 2015 – Suite Francaise, Focus and young adult dystopian thriller Z For Zachariah opposite Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor – we think Robbie will have a pretty good 2015, too.
