She can really lip sync
When Emma appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon for a lip sync battle, little did we know that she was going to be give us the most epic lip syncing performance since the dawn of time. Not only does she prove that she isn’t afraid to take on the lightning fast lyrics in Hook by Blues Traveller (and also that she’s a closet Ludacris fan), but she looks adorable doing it. Her facial expressions were the reason we were on #TeamEmma the entire time. Sorry Jimmy!
She loves the spice girls
This fan girl moment proves she’s just like us. During an interview while in Sydney promoting The Amazing Spiderman 2 on 2Day FM, radio hosts Sophie Monk and Merrick Watts broke the news that their co-host Mel B (yes, that Mel B from The Spice Girls) was unable to make it. Just as Emma began to tear up, Mel B popped up on a screen. The two then had a good old chat where Emma revealed she’s the biggest Spice Girls fan of all time. She also revealed that when she was younger, she wanted to be Baby Spice, not Scary Spice. Mel B declared her punishment was to sing Wannabe and it was amazing. Jimmy should’ve gotten her to sing for real. Watch the video if you don’t believe us.
She has great red carpet style
Emma’s red carpet style is one of our favourites in Hollywood. Favouring sophisticated – yet sexy – designers like Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana and Chanel, Emma always stuns when she steps out at events and award ceremonies. This Atelier Versace dress, from the premiere of The Amazing Spiderman 2, is classic old-Hollywood Emma.
She’s socially aware
Emma isn’t afraid to show her social conscience on her sleeve. In 2012, while eating in a café with her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, the two heard paparazzi were outside. The pair then decided to put the attention they had attracted to good use by exiting the café holding signs that gave the names of charitable organisations they felt deserved the attention more (Emma and Andrew also repeated the stunt in June this year). They’ve since started a trend, with celebrities around the world – including Anne Hathaway and Benedict Cumberbatch – taking a leaf out of their book, holding up signs sharing causes to the paparazzi. But we know that it was Emma that started it all.
She’s goofy
If you thought her expressions in the lip sync battle were priceless, you haven’t seen anything yet. Emma is the champion of pulling faces, whether on the red carpet, on talk shows or in her many movie roles. Our favourite? This gif from her breakout role in The Scarlet Letter appropriation Easy A.
