We were more than a little gobsmacked when we heard the news that Kim Kardashian's app made $1.73 million in just five days - but it seems Jessica Alba can now trump that and more.

Alba launched e-commerce lifestyle site The Honest Company (www.honest.com) in 2012, which sells eco-friendly household products such as baby items, cleaning supplies and bodycare items for a monthly subscription fee.

The company's current valuation is now reportedly worth $1 billion, and Honest's co-founder and CEO Brian Lee told the Wall Street Journal that it's on track to bring in $150 million in revenue this year.

"(Jessica) is an international star. We're starting to see a lot of demand from her fans around the world," [investor Jeremy Liew] said. "This idea for non-toxic, chemical free products has resonated around the world in developed and developing countries."

Alba originally started the company when she was pregnant with her now three-and-a-half year old daughter, Honor (hence the company name).

"I was shocked to learn how many dangerous chemicals were in the products I used, including many I had assumed were safe," says Alba of her decision to launch the site.

Whatever the reasoning, it seems Alba can consider her first tech foray a complete success.
