Name / position: Bree McDonald, Market Editor

Travel destination: Dubai

RELATED: Vietnam And Cambodia Travel Highlights

Where I stayed: Madinat Jumeirah

What I wore: Light pants, tee’s and dresses. Anything goes but a light shawl is an essential for moments of heat and or modesty.

Suitable for (couples, singles or families): All of the above. There is so much to do at the Madinat Jumeirah and yet so much relaxing to be had too. Situated right on the beautiful azure beaches, with numerous pools through out the facility – there was also a dedicated Souk, Turtle preservation enclosure and water park and 42 restaurants and bars to choose from.

Best shopping locations: The Souk at Madinat Jumeriah or Dubai Mall – what a fashion Mecca that place is! It’s actually the biggest shopping mall in the world.

Best dining experience: I adored everything I ate in Dubai – being such a hugely multicultural city, there are cuisines from all over the globe and everything is done with such finesse it’s hard to choose a favourite. Though I did enjoy the traditional Emirati food and hospitality at the Sheihk Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding.

Must see:
Adults: The view and dining at Sky View Bar Burj Al Arab
Kids/Kids at Heart: Kidzania at Dubai Mall

Highlight / don’t miss: If you make it to Dubai, you MUST go on the Arabian Adventures, Desert Safari!

Top tip: Be excited! There is so much to see and do – just remember to slip, slop, slap!

Budget (Splurge or Steal): – If you’re going to Dubai, fly the luxury of Emirates and SPLURGE! There is not point holding back in this city of culture and indulgence.
