Gen Y Wants Money, Money, Money: Study

Just four months after marie claire compared the differences between Generation X and Y in Talking about my Generation, a study by SEEK.com.au has revealed Gen Y want higher salaries to cope with rising costs of their first home, rent, HECS debt and petrol prices.

The survey also revealed Gen Y has the itchiest feet with 73 per cent of respondents saying they intended to leave their current employer in less than a year for the prospect of a higher salary.

But SEEK spokesman Joe Powell said this is hardly a surprise considering Generation Y is likely to be the first generation in history to be financially worse off than their parents.
