John Galliano Fired; Shunned By Natalie Portman
In the wake of John Galliano's alleged racist tirade in which he praised Hitler, Christian Dior has chosen to sever ties with the fallen fashion designer.
In a statement released early this morning, the company said, "In light of the deeply offensive statements and conduct by John Galliano [in that video], Christian Dior has commenced termination procedures against him."
Chief Executive Sidney Toledano added, "We unequivocally condemn the statements made by John Galliano which are in total contradiction to the longstanding core values of Christian Dior."
In an added blow, actress Natalie Portman has publicly proclaimed her disgust for the fashion designer, saying, "in light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way."
The Black Swan star, who wore Rodarte to the Oscars on Monday, is currently the face of Miss Dior Cherie.
Christian Dior's Paris Fashion Week show is scheduled to go ahead this Friday.
