Paris Fashion Week Daily Diary: Day 8

Chanel never fails to deliver when it comes to incredible, theatrical settings for its shows. Last year the runway was reimagined as a stylish protest; the season before as a luxe supermarket.

Eagerly anticipating the Chanel show.

Today, Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into that very French institution, a brasserie. Models perched on stools, slurped coffee and sauntered past in what was a very feminine collection. They were chic and perfectly adorned in an array of gorgeous looks. At the end of the show, each model propped themselves up around the brasserie, which allowed plenty of impromptu photo shoots, as fashion editors took snaps on their way out.

After Chanel we visited the Dior offices above the boutique on Avenue Montaigne. We saw the collection up close and personal then perused the watches and fine jewels.

Next, it was on to the Celine ‘resee’ where photography was not allowed - hence my shot from the stairwell in the building. However, I think I can at least say that this collection is certainly one of my favourites from designer Phoebe Philo.

And then of course it was Valentino. The collection was so pretty, with a divine bohemian spirit. So it was something of a shock when the stars of Zoolander - Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson - ran onto the runway. The whole place erupted - it was complete madness as the crowd started screaming and laughing. If you haven’t seen it yet, catch it below!
