It’s been a big three years for Saint Laurent since Hedi Slimane joined the brand as creative director. The French fashion house has undergone a comprehensive image overhaul, a complete rebranding (the ‘Yves’ was dropped) and the ushering in of new campaign stars in the form of Cara Delevingne and Edie Campbell.

All of this change has proven a good thing, with the brand’s parent company Kering announcing this week that over three years Saint Laurent’s revenue has doubled. Last year alone, sales of merchandise increased by an incredible 27 per cent, totaling 707.3 million Euros across the board.

It might be good news for Saint Laurent but other Kering brands have been less successful. The French luxury business’ long term gold-star brand Gucci saw a decrease in sales last year of 1.1 per cent. It’s still the biggest Kering brand, making 3.5 billion Euros in 2014, but recently creative director Frida Giannini left the fashion house to make way for Alessandro Michele.
