Considering her high-profile model status and friendship with Balmain's creative director, we thought Kendall Jenner would be a shoo-in for the brand's latest advert.
Instead, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have stolen the coveted campaign from under her nose, with the famous duo photographed in a steamy embrace to promote the brand's spring 2015 collection, aptly titled 'Army of Lovers'.
Kardashian broke the news on her Instagram account overnight, with the photo attracting nearly 800,000 likes in 24 hours. She then followed up with another photo of the pair that shows Kim in a yellow dress staring sultrily off camera, and Kanye in a black and white stripe leather hoodie.
The pair has grown close to Balmain's creative director, Olivier Rousteing, over the last few months, and are regularly spotted wearing clothes from the luxury fashion house.
In addition, Rousteing sent the couple's daughter, North West, a series of baby Balmain blazers recently, which Kim posted to social media with the caption, 'OMG!!!! Look what @olivier_rousteing sent North! Thank you @BalmainParis for these little custom jackets to match mommy.'
While Rousteing might have chosen Kim and Kanye to front his latest campaign, we don't think Kendall will be too upset - the model is now the face of Estee Lauder, and a regular on the international runway circuit.
