Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell Paid £1 To Appear At Olympics

Considering their model counterpart Linda Evangelista refused to get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell are taking quite a large pay cut for their next runway show.

The supermodels are set to take part in the Olympics closing ceremony next month for just £1, with organisers saying Moss and Campbell were keen to participate because it will be such a memorable event.

“Organisers wanted the best of British – and that’s exactly what they’ve got,” reported the Mirror. “British style is known around the world for innovation and creativity, so it’s right that it will be celebrated as part of the show – it will look amazing.”

Moss and Campbell will be joined by British models Lily Cole and Georgia May Jagger, who will also work the event for £1.

Despite their poor pay-check, the models will don some of fashion’s most expensive designs from the likes of Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood during the closing ceremony, which is aptly titled, “A Symphony of British Music.”

Joining the group of UK models will be some of the UK’s most high-profile bands including Queen, Annie Lennox, George Michael, and One Direction.

“We want to create a fabulous emotional experience, something that people will remember for years to come," said organisers. It will be an elegant mash-up of British music and style."
