Are you a skincare, makeup, fragrance or hair girl?
It’s hard to choose, but if forced I would say makeup and skincare. For me they go hand in hand: the more effort you put into looking after your skin, the better your makeup looks. I spend a fair amount on moisturisers, serums, oils, cleansers, scrubs and masks. I swear by Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque, ModelCo sunscreen, Crop Macadamia Oil, Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator serum (ed note: this is no longer available), Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-aging Overnight Cream, MAC Volcanic Ash Treatment Mask (ed note: this is no longer available) and SK-II Facial Treatment Masks. I’m also a huge believer in good quality makeup brushes as they make a big difference. I stock up on brushes by MAC, It Cosmetics and Amy Jean's eyebrow brush, which is the only one I will use.

What’s your go-to weekday beauty look?
For weekdays I keep it simple which means clean skin, amped-up lashes, a brow powder and lip-gloss. I find a lash and lip is all you need to look like you’ve made an effort but really it just took five minutes! I like Avon Mega Effects Mascara, and for my lips I’ll apply Avon Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss in Tickled Pink first, then a second coat of Nude to give it some shimmer.

And your after-hours style?
For a special occasion it’s all about a seriously smoky eye. The smokier the better! The more the better, too: liquid liner, black eyeshadow, lots of lashes, and a pop of bright eyeshadow in the inner corner of the eye to open it up a little. To offset the smoky eye I try to create really dewy skin by mixing my foundation with an illuminator and a couple of drops of macadamia oil. I find a custom blend gives my skin a luxe look and it never looks dry or cakey.

Beauty muse?
Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba and Nicole Richie are all stunning women who glow and exude confidence in their own skin.

If we're talking smoothies and beauty, what are the best ingredients for:
Clear and glowing skin: My sister Maha Koraiem (who also co-authored the book) and I developed a smoothie that contains spinach, alfalfa sprouts, red grapes, kiwi fruit and almond milk.
Healthy hair and nails: A delicious combo of baby spinach, banana, mango and almond milk is simple but effective
Flatter belly: Our aptly named Flat Belly smoothie was created specifically to aid digestion and reduce bloating. It’s a veggie powerhouse with baby spinach, avocado and broccoli, blended together with banana, mint, almonds and almond milk. It’s one of the most popular smoothies in the book.
