Diamonds really are a girl's best friend.

On Friday, Nov. 29, Mariah Carey was featured on Vogue's YouTube series Now Serving and shared some of her favorite holiday traditions while baking cookies.

At one point, the "Always Be My Baby" singer, 55, was asked about the best holiday gift she's ever received.

"It was probably some diamonds, I've gotta say," she said with a smile, before adding that she "didn't want to say that out loud."

"But I had to," she said.

Elsewhere in the video, the Queen of Christmas revealed when she thought was an appropriate time to begin listening to her holiday hit "All I Want for Christmas Is You."

"I like to wait until at least Nov. 1. But before that I would always wait until Thanksgiving. It depends. Some people want to start a little bit earlier. Usually I wait until my video that I do called 'It's Time,' then we go from there. Listen away."

Carey is currently traveling across the country on her Christmas Time tour. At her Nov. 8 show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, she brought out her 13-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe to lead an intermission performance.

However, she officially declared the start of the Christmas season on Nov. 1 when she released her annual "It's Time" video with an Addam's Family twist.

In the video, she channeled Morticia Addams as she appeared dressed in a glittering black dress, a Kay Jewelers diamond necklace, dark makeup and a black wig. She danced with a man dressed as Gomez Addam before pushing him off her, launching a knife at him (though she narrowly missed and hit the painting behind him instead) and smiled at the camera as a red holiday dress appeared and the countdown of dates began.

"All I Want for Christmas Is You" began to play after Carey — who sat on a sled surrounded by presents — announced, "It's time!"

Then, her male costar turned into an animated snowman and the words "It's Time!" flashed up on the screen above a castle, while Carey winked and blew a kiss at the camera.

Carey has created an entire brand under the Christmas umbrella since releasing her first holiday album 30 years ago. She's also released the 2010 album Merry Christmas II You and two children's books.

This year, Carey is also working with Virgin Hotels to create “All I Want for Christmas”-themed bars across the country just in time for her iconic song’s 30th anniversary. She also launched an Amazon storefront filled with holiday decorations, gift picks and merchandise for her Christmas Time Tour.
