Margaret Qualley Says Her Dad Got Starstruck by Adam Sandler at Golden Globes: 'Cutest Thing I've Ever Seen'

Margaret Qualley's dad Paul Qualley got a little bit starstruck at the Golden Globes.

The Substance actress, 30, shared on the Happy Sad Confused with Josh Horowitz podcast about her recent experience at the award show, where she was nominated for best supporting actress. The highlight was bringing her father along with her, she said, and he was looking forward to meeting Adam Sandler.

"I think he's kinda like this for everyone, but in my family, Adam Sandler is the best guy in the world," Margaret said. "You want to be like him. You want to marry him. ... He's the best."

When her dad met the actor-comedian, he was at a loss for words, Margaret said. "My dad met Sandler, and my dad goes, 'I can't even talk to you, man. I can't even talk to you,' " she said. "It was the cutest thing I've ever seen."

Horowitz agreed that Sandler, 58, is just as great in person as he is on screen. He's just "one of those guys that is exactly who you want him to be," Horowitz said.

On the Golden Globes red carpet, Paul, who shares the actress with ex Andie MacDowell, told Entertainment Tonight that he was "very proud" of his daughter: "I always have been, ever since she was tiny."

While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in September 2024, Qualley said she dropped everything to secure a role in the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel with Sandler.

A “mega fan” of Sandler, Qualley said, “I saw that there was gonna to be a Happy Gilmore 2 and I emailed my agents right away and I said, ‘Anything it takes — no part is too small. Please. I gotta be a part of this, I'm begging you. Please. Whatever it takes.' "
