It’s more flattering than some of my pricier pieces.

Aside from buying a new handbag, comfy loafers, and luxurious fragrances, one of my joys in life is finding designer-quality clothes at affordable prices. I pride myself on my ability to scour the internet for trending fashion pieces that look expensive but—plot twist—actually aren’t. And my latest wardrobe addition is worth snagging while it’s still in stock.
Walmart is my favorite unexpected retailer for finding a variety of closet staples, such as cardigans, shoes, and loungewear. I had the opportunity to try Scoop’s Faux Leather Collared Mini Shirtdress, and it’s now one of my most prized pieces. I receive non-stop compliments whenever I wear the $36 style. It feels like real leather and looks high-end in comparison to its price tag—seriously, it’s the same cost as my go-to food delivery order.

To say I’m floored by the dress’ quality would be an understatement. The buttery-soft faux leather feels nearly identical to my real leather pieces (and shockingly, even smoother than some). The interior is warm and suede-like, and the construction doesn’t feel cheaply made thanks to the thick fabric. I’ve worn it in below-freezing temperatures comfortably with tights and over-the-knee boots.
The pricey-looking style is available in black and dark brown and sizes XS through 4X. While I own the brown color, I’m considering buying it in black to have both in my rotation. It features short sleeves, a point collar, side pockets, and a tie-waist belt that offers a flattering fit. If you prefer a tighter fit, I suggest sizing down since it is a tad roomy. I opted for my usual size and am happy with my choice since it’s comfy but still looks tailored with the sash belt.
After searching online for designer alternatives, I found lookalikes that cost up to $1,500 and, in full transparency, Walmart’s $36 is aesthetically far nicer and feels better than more expensive items in my closet. My coworker was floored when I told her where I got it from because she assumed it was at least four-times the price.
Don’t wait too long to snag Scoop’s faux leather shirtdress for just $36. New arrivals from Walmart’s exclusive brands always sell out fast, and I’m fairly certain this one will fly off the virtual racks. Keep scrolling for more pieces I’m eyeing and plan to add to my collection very soon.
