Maine Coon Brothers Turn Afternoon Backpack Stroll Into Comedic Cat Fight

Before I became the proud mom of two cats, I had my own dreams and visions of how it would be. When I adopted my second, my first cat was only two years old, so I figured she was at the perfect age to be a big sister to a kitten. She was fully grown, a little mature, and used to this whole "being a cat thing," so she could show her baby brother the ropes, and naturally, they would get along immediately. Plenty of adorable iPhone photoshoots and kitty sibling cuddles were in my future, no doubt.

As you can probably predict, that's not quite the way things turned out in the end... but at least we've finally found peace in the house. But when it comes to the two Maine Coons in this video, I have to wonder what they're like when they're not each confined to a backpack...

Recently, @jimmy_and_beaks shared a video of what it looks like to go on a walk with their Maine Coons, Jimmy and Beaks. The kitties are in their backpacks and off to enjoy the great outdoors with their humans... but instead of a calm experience, these two are going at each other!

This is a major slap fight... and they're both out for blood (even if neither of them appears to be winning this duel).

Now, I know what you're thinking: This was a recipe for disaster from the beginning, between taking cats on a walk outside and putting them in backpacks. But plenty of cats are into that kind of thing. They just probably wish they weren't spending that time with their annoying brother!

However, their parents insist in the caption that their cats aren't always like this.

"One minute they’re lickin', the next biting each other on the bottom. Brothers!! All paws and no trousers," they joked. "They actually adore each other.. just a bit of travel violence every now and then!!"

Their parents are right — these two do typically act like besties, so this must have been a bad day for them both.

In other videos on their account, it's easy to see just how much Jimmy and Beaks love each other. The entire Instagram is dedicated to their outdoor adventures, which have eben. happening for about two years now. A lot of the time, these two get along just fine when they're out and about; here, you can even see them peacefully sharing the same backpack, which is quite impressive.

But once in awhile, there is travel violence. Can we talk about how funny this other slap fight Is?

As long as they get along most of the time, siblings really are going to fight. Cat or human, it's inevitable!
