MAFS' Selina reveals which co-star she wishes she was paired with

She had quite a tumultuous journey on this year’s season of Married At First Sight with her ‘husband’ Cody Bromley, and now Selina Chhaur has revealed which groom she wishes she was paired with instead.

The fan favourite bride was a guest on Carla From Bankstown’s podcast OMG BRO this week and spoke candidly about her time on the show and what she would have liked to change from the experience.

“I think Anthony [Cincotta] and I would’ve been a really good match,” Selina confessed.

“I feel like we were both there for the right reasons, we’re both a bit older, and he’s a daddy - like an actual daddy.

“The way that he is with his daughter is just so beautiful.”

Anthony, a professional wrestler from Melbourne, was paired with executive assistant and mother-of-one Selin Mengu on the reality show.

While their relationship started off strong at their wedding, things came to an explosive end less than halfway into the experiment.

Anthony has since gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend Kate, who Selina described as “gorgeous”.

‘Perfect match'

It turns out Selina wasn’t the only person who thought that she and Anthony would have made a good couple on the show, with a number of MAFS viewers taking to social media earlier this year to ship the pair.

“Selina and Anthony would have been a perfect match,” one fan wrote, followed by another who added, “Both there for the right reasons and both have empathy.”

“I am more than okay if Anthony and Selina hook up,” a third shared, while someone else replied, “Oh I could very easily get on board with an Anthony and Selina affair actually”.

“I am hanging on to hope that the experts mixed up Selin and Selina's names,” a different user remarked. “They really meant to match Anthony with Selina right?”

‘So empowering’

Selina’s comments come shortly after she spoke with Yahoo Lifestyle while getting ready for the Logie Awards last month and opened up about her dramatic new look.

The 32-year-old hairdresser debuted a major transformation shortly after the show finished airing, swapping her blonde hair and blue contact lenses for dark tresses and her natural brown eyes.

“After MAFS I went home, did a lot of reflecting and I was like, you know what? I’m going to embrace my natural look,” she said. “I love being Asian and I love my culture and I’m proud, so I want to represent!

“I thought having blonde hair and blue eyes was attractive and I only felt beautiful when I had my blue contacts in and when I had my freshly done blonde hair. It’s just been so empowering and liberating to go back to my natural roots. I’m loving it.”
