MAFS' Martha 'sick with fear' after rushing son to hospital

Martha Kalifatidis has shared the terrifying moment she had to rush her seven-month-old son, Lucius, to hospital after he was struck down with a mystery virus.

Taking to Instagram, the former MAFS star opened up about the terrifying ordeal.

"Hi everyone, we just had the scariest 48 hours of our lives," she said. "Looch's temperature hit 39.8. His whole body was completely limp. I've never been so sick with fear. We rushed to the ER."

It turned out baby Lucius had a virus, though Martha and partner Michael Brunelli still are unsure exactly what it was.

Thankfully, Lucius has made a speedy recovery.

"Feel so lucky to have such amazing care. Our docs and nurses are amazing," Martha said.

Martha and Michael's relationship history

After being paired on season six of MAFS in 2019, the couple has gone from strength to strength and is now one of MAFS' biggest success stories.

They got engaged in December 2021, before announcing their pregnancy in September 2022.

Martha shared she had been struggling immensely throughout the pregnancy after being diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, saying the condition has given her "severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief". "I literally didn't get out of bed for two months," Martha said at the time.

The couple welcomed Lucius in late February 2023.
