MAFS' Cyrell and Elizabeth are 'getting their own show'
As this year’s Married at First Sight becomes a distant reality TV memory, its stars are bidding to find other ways to stay firmly in the spotlight.
For Elizabeth Sobinoff and Cyrell Paule, this has manifested in apparent plans for a new spinoff show which will mirror The Simple Life series.
Made famous by Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie in the early 2000s, the reality TV show saw the well-heeled pair experience farm life in rural America.
The program catapulted the duo to fame and has now apparently inspired offscreen besties Elizabeth and Cyrell to follow a similar path in a bid to extend their stay in the public eye.
"They're shopping around the idea of them doing a Simple Life-style show, travelling around Australia, doing odd jobs and mingling with country folk," an insider told NW.
"They have great chemistry. It could be a ratings winner....it's going to be such a riot!"
Surprisingly, the entertaining duo were not the initial pick to star in the onscreen spinoff and were overlooked for co-stars Jessika Power and Martha Kalifatdis.
However, this plan was quick to come undone as the series progressed and audiences turned after they saw the drama the pair became involved in.
Among the highlights were Jess’ affair with now-ex-boyfriend Dan Webb, Cyrell’s unforgettable brother Ivan’s intrusion into her relationship and Cyrell taking swipes at her co-star before and after the cameras had stopped rolling.
