MAFS’ Carly was a big reason why Rob went on The Bachelorette
Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette saw the front-runner Rob Colangelo’s time sadly came to an end after Ali Otejen began questioning their compatibility.
And while it seemed to be Rob’s heated conversation with Ali’s loved ones – where he asked if she had ‘done the work,’ to move on from her past mistakes – that sparked their downfall, speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Rob revealed he wouldn’t have had it any other way.

“I kind of didn’t get the answers that I wanted out of her about her having done the work and whether she was truly ready for that relationship,” he said.
“But I stand by my convictions and I feel like they were valid questions to ask and I’d ask them again any day.”

The 29-year-old plumber then revealed that it was actually his ex-girlfriend Carly Bowyer from Married At First Sight who inspired him to go on the show in the first place.
“I did watch her on that show, the first few episodes were a bit awkward but after that, I think it was good… I was rooting for her and hoping she found love out of it, which she did,” Rob said.
“After catching up with her after she got back and hearing how positive her experience was, I kind of just applied and thought, it worked for her, it could work for me.”

Unfortunately, things didn’t work out in the long term for Carly either, after announcing her split from fellow MAFS contestant Troy Delmege in August this year.
Could this mean there is potential for Rob and Carly to reunite?
Well, “never say never,” Rob teased.

But either way, it might not be the last we hear of the handsome brunette, who admitted he’s keen on returning to our screens for Bachelor in Paradise.
“Definitely, if I got asked I would love to go. I’m still hoping to find love in my life and you never know where it’s going to be… it could be in paradise.”
Oh, and FYI, he would “definitely make time,” for chatting to Brooke and Cass who were recently confirmed to be on the show.
