Karl Stefanovic hints his partying ways are back at the Logies

The 2019 TV Week Logie Awards are a big night for Karl Stefanovic, and he wants everyone to know it.

The former Today presenter, who was infamously dumped from the Channel Nine breakfast show at the end of last year, wasn’t shy to admit on Sunday night that he’d be letting his hair down.

“I don’t have to prepare for a show the next morning… so watch out,” he told the network on the red carpet.

The 44-year-old was of course poking fun at the infamous incident 10 years ago, when he was still a bit drunk while hosting the Today show alongside Lisa Wilkinson the morning after the 2009 Logies.

“This is the first time in 15 years I've been a Logies where I don't have to get up at 3:30 in the morning. It's like, oh, what?” he told Leila McKinnon on the red carpet at The Star on the Gold Coast.

“What does Karl Stefanovic unleashed look like?” Leila then asked. “Even when you were getting up early it disappoint hold you back.”

But Karl then backtracked on his initial afterparty plans.

“This is the more responsible Stefanovic now,” he said.

“Looking to be more conservative. I'll be at the gym at 3:30 followed by the library. You know, that's the sort of stuff I have come to expect for myself these days,” he joked.

New TV gig after Today

Since being dumped from Today at the end of last year, Karl has been laying low.

But he’s going to be back on screens very soon as the host of This Time Next Year.

“It's been a wonderful year as it always is,” he revealed.

“The show is looking fantastic, coming to screens very soon in August, I think.

“People have done amazing things this year. Much more incredible than I could have imagined.”
