Loewe has set up shop in Chicago.

The luxury Spanish brand has opened a new store on Oak Street, spanning two floors of an 1890s building. The 2,594-square-foot store showcases the full offering of women’s ready-to-wear, bags, shoes, small leather goods, sunglasses and other accessories alongside an ever-evolving collection of art pieces.

Loewe Chicago Oak Street highlights the Casa Loewe retail concept developed by creative director Jonathan Anderson, that features sculpture, furniture and handcrafted objects that resemble an art collector’s home.

Hand-crafted ceramic tiles line the walls around a sweeping staircase fitted with an artisan-made, Georgian-inspired wooden handrail.

The space’s color palette is deep blue, aquamarine and brown. Warm natural materials of concrete, marble and oak wood serve as a backdrop to highlight the space’s artwork and interior design.

Among the furniture selections are Utrecht armchairs and wooden and felt Berin chairs, placed among a black terrazzo table, a tufted leather bench, iron martini tables, ceramic vessels and a Noguchi lamp.

Hand-selected pieces from Loewe’s global art collection are displayed throughout the store. For example, British artist Lorna Robertson’s Courtyard (2022) and Los Angeles-based collage artist Richard Hawkins’ Little Girl Inside (2023) are on display. Two works of egg tempera on calfskin from New York painter Altoon Sultan-Dark Corner (2021) and Lines and loop (2021), adorn the walls.

In July, Loewe opened a new store in Houston at River Oaks District, on the heels of stores opening in Bal Harbour, Fla., and Boston in June, as reported.
