Grammys 2025 red carpet live updates: Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Ye and more
All eyes might be watching to see if Beyoncé, the most-winning artist in Grammys history, will win her first album of the year for “Cowboy Carter.” But tbh, for us, the Grammys are all about the fashion. It's the one award show where celebrities have fun. A fashion risk and miss is so much better than a boring safe gown.
This year, we're happy that everyone didn't go too demure after the LA wildfires (though the blue pin was a nice touch.) We knew Chappell Roan was coming, so why did we worry? We loved her vintage vibes in couture Gaultier, and so many more looks from the past - from St. Vincent in Armani to Olivia Rodrigo in Versace. We love when our fashion girlies go vintage.
Vivienne Westwood was the mastermind behind two of the night's biggest looks: the custom couture red mini dress for Taylor Swift and the sleek long black corset dress for Lady Gaga.
Our own USA TODAY red-carpet crew brings you interviews from the red carpet, stunning looks and daring risks.

Lady Gaga
Vivienne Westwood was busy this awards season - designing this corseted black gown for Lady Gaga, as well as a short red mini dress for Taylor Swift.
Olivia Rodrigo goes vintage
Olivia Rodrigo's vintage Versace dress showed an evolution in the her style. Her simple, soft curls complemented the deep keyhole cut out and backless gown.
Taylor Swift: It was red
The Swifties are never going to decode this. They wanted snakes. They wanted green. They got a red mini Vivienne Westwood custom dress that matched the popstar's signature lipstick color. Westwood designerd the singer's TTPD dress on the Eras Tour.
Swift wore 4.7-inch suede heels adorned with crystals from Casadei. We love the description of the Cappa Blade Stratosphere sandal "loved by celebrities." Clearly.
The Swifties on socials are breathlessly noting the T on Swift's thigh, the red for boyfriend Travis Kelce's team, the Kansas City Chiefs. There is so much to discuss.

Miley Cyrus and her bangs walk the carpet
Cyrus stunned in dark halter dress by Saint Laurent.
Kelsea Ballerini goes 90s supermodel, but can't sit down
Kelsea Ballerini wore a Tamara Ralph couture dress with a cone shaped top, covered in beads. She told E!'s Zanna Roberts Rassi that she won't sit in the dress - and will need to change.
Forget Taylor and Travis, and focus on John and Chrissy
I mean, since we aren't going to see Taylor and Travis on the carept, we are celebrating our favorite date night couple. We love the looks served by John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.
Gracie Abrams is angelic in Chanel
We loved Gracie's look at the FireAid show where she performed with The National's Aaron Dessner. And tbh, we loved her looks as she opened for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour. We love a girl who rocks a glam dress while she also rocks a guitar.
She looked both angelic and bridal in a Chanel look with veil - and we wondered what boyfriend Paul Mescal thought of the look. (The black belt gave classic Vera Wang vibes.) The dress, which is a buttery yellow, has the classic Chanel camellia. We wouldn't have expected anything else. Abrams is an ambassador for the French fashion house.
She told USA TODAY that her look felt "liquid-y" and if Abrams says that's a word, we're going with it.
Billie Eilish goes all Prada
Billie Eilish stayed true to her signature style in a Prada look from hat to suit. With the tiny glasses and modern folded bucket hat, we saw a nod to Diane Keaton.
Sabrina Carpenter goes Hollywood glam with a modern twist
The queen of the stiletto wore a look that wasn't short and sweet, but definitely sweet. The pastel look by JW Anderson gave old Hollywood with the feathers and her hair, yet she made it modern.

St. Vincent's from the archives look
Love all the looks from the archives this year. St. Vincent looked glam in an Armani capsule piece from 1991. She showed up just two days after she performed with the Nirvana reunion at FireAid.
Ye and the NSFW or USA TODAY's Bianca Censori look
There's a reason we'll only show you this photo. Bianca Censori's dress was sheer. And it showed way too much for us here at USA TODAY. Please enjoy her fur coat (unclear if it was real or faux.)
The look didn't surprise us, and Censori has appeared in nearly sheer looks on Ye's arm in the past. This time she ditched jewelry and undergarments. His look was a basic black pants and T-shirt.

Our Midwest Princess Chappell Roan
All eyes were on Chappell Roan with her Gaultier 2003 look from the archives. She went with her performance look with thick white makeup.

Can we have a moment of appreciation for the eye makeup?
The blue pin showing support for the LA wild fire relief
Our own Aversa, Ralphie notes that there's a blue pin for wildfire relief efforts happening on the red carpet. Brittany Howard sported the pin - and you can see the pin's design in the backdrop of most of the Grammys red carpet photos.
We asked for risk taking, we got it
Sierra Ferrell pretty much swept the American Roots category of the Grammys. We're not sure what to make of this look, except to say, it's not boring!
Gayle King turns heads in a chocolate velvet
Has an event started if Gayle King isn't seated? The CBS journalist looked stunning in a chocolate suit. We hope to look so good at 70.
Robert Trujillo of Metallica and a good father-son moment
We love a good father son moment on a red carpet. And if your dad is in Metallica, we expect nothing more than a cool T-shirt under a jacket. Love the number of artists who brought one of their kids with them!
Willow Smith and Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith is the house, or castle.
And let's say this: We would rather a fashion risk than a fashion blah.
Kacey Musgraves brings a golden hour to the carpet
Kacey Musgraves gave off golden hour in this skirt. Musgraves wore a look from Ralph Lauren with a simple tank with a concho belt from a New Mexico gallery pulling it all together.
Best dressed at the 2024 Grammys
Of course before we watch this year's red carpet, we need to look back to our favorite Grammy looks from last year. We loved Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa and Coco Jones.
