Why Lisa Wilkinson will not attend Karl Stefanovic's wedding

Lisa Wilkinson and Karl Stefanovic hosted Today together for over a decade, but it appears their relationship is strictly professional.

The 58-year-old confirmed to Sydney Confidential over the weekend she will not be attending Karl’s upcoming nuptials to fiancée Jasmine Yarbrough.

The reason why? Well, it’s pretty simple.

“I have not been invited,” she told the publication.

The presenter also admitted while she does miss “elements” from her time on the Nine Network breakfast show, she’s more focused on her new role.

“There are elements of Today which I do miss, but I am so focused on my new life and the new challenges I have,” she said.

Lisa left Today in October last year, jumping ship to Network Ten to snag a spot on The Project.

Her exit from the network after 10 years came after speculation surrounding her salary expectations, with reports Lisa demanded the same pay as co-host Karl, who reportedly earns $2 million.

Karl and Jasmine are expected to officially tie the knot in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico next month.

The couple first started dating at the end of 2016, three months after announcing his separation from ex-wife Cassandra Thorburn.

At the time Karl admitted he wasn’t planning on jumping into a new relationship so soon after their split.

“I certainly did not expect to meet someone five months after I broke up with my wife,” he told Stellar. “That was not planned.

“I did not know her before. I met her on a boat in Sydney.”

Earlier this year, the 44-year-old confirmed his engagement to Jasmine.

It was reported the Today host had popped the question with a $120,000 ring, but Karl shut down those rumours.

“The ring was made by Nic Cerrone and didn’t cost $120,000. Those figures are ridiculous,” he told TheFIX in February.

Karl and Cassandra announced their separation in September 2016 after 21 years of marriage, officially divorcing a year later in 2017.

They share three children Jackson, 18, Ava, 12, and River, 10.

Back in 2011 Karl famously thanked Cassandra, who put her career on hold to look after the family, during his Gold Logie acceptance speech.
