Channel 10 denies reports The Project's Lisa Wilkinson is set to be dumped
Channel 10 has denied reports suggesting The Sunday Project’s Lisa Wilkinson is about to be dumped from her role on the current affairs show.
Woman’s Day reported yesterday that two years after jumping ship from Channel Nine to Channel 10, Lisa could be at sea come contract negotiation time.
According to the magazine, the Aussie star is after a multi-million dollar contract going forward, but The Sunday Project’s falling ratings are making it difficult to justify.
They also claimed that former Seven anchor and current 10 News First weekend anchor and ABC Radio Evenings host Chris Bath, would be the network’s first pick for replacing Lisa.
However, Channel 10 denied the rumours, telling Yahoo Lifestyle the reports from the magazine were ‘100% untrue’.
Veteran broadcast news journalist Chris has definite proof she can turn her hand to most platforms, and a current affairs program would be a return to roots for the former Seven darling, who anchored the network’s late ‘90s current affairs program Witness in 1998.
Ongoing rumours of trouble on The Project
As for Lisa, it’s not the first time whispers of unrest on The Project set have dogged the mum of two.
Back in August the show’s ten year anniversary episode was said to portray an unconfirmed feud between the hosts.
Reports at the time claimed tensions were high behind the scenes after Peter Helliar made a comment to Lisa live on air that may have revealed more than he intended.
“We love having you on our show,” he said at the time.
The well-intentioned comment seemed to suggest that Lisa, who joined Ten more than two years ago is still not a part of the current affairs program’s ‘us’.
