Lisa Wilkinson blasts PM over smutty Pam Anderson comments
Lisa Wilkinson has slammed Scott Morrison over his “smutty” comments about actress Pamela Anderson.
The Project host made a passionate plea to Australia’s Prime Minister on Monday night, calling on him to publicly apologise to the Baywatch star “for the sake of your two daughters”.
It follows Pam’s public call on the PM to help Australian Wikileaks founder and her friend, Julian Assange, but it was ScoMo’s response about how his mates wanted to be a “special envoy” to help sort this “issue” with the actress, that angered Lisa.
“I wonder if this is how you would like men in the future to be talking about your girls?” Lisa said during the emotive piece.
The 58-year-old had begun by accusing the PM of not understanding how his comments can be perceived and how damaging they are.
“The problem is we don’t think you get it Prime Minister, because when you dismiss a woman’s ideas while stirring in some sexual innuendo it’s not just your words we’re hearing, it’s every time a boys club has got in the way of our hopes and dreams,” she said.
She went on to describe the “disgusting comments” women are barraged with on a daily basis just for being female and being “belittled simply for being a woman”.
“And if you think this is just fake outrage from some of the bleeding heart left think again,” the mum-of-three continued.
She even compared him to America’s notoriously inappropriate President, Donald Tump. Ouch!
“I think it’s time for you to apologise to Pamela Anderson, if not for us then at least for the sake of your two daughters and for all the little boys out there too.”
Pam appears to appreciate Lisa’s support, retweeting the three minute segment to her one million followers on Twitter hours after it aired.
Just a day before, the 51-year-old took to the social media to share an open letter to Scott, calling him “smutty” and “lewd” for his comments about her on a Gold Coast radio station.
“I’ve had plenty of mates who have asked me if they can be my special envoy to sort the issue out with Pamela Anderson,” he told Hot Tomato FM.
It came after the TV star appealed for the PM to help Julian Assange during an interview with 60 Minutes.

Julian is the computer hacker who has been stranded in the Ecuadorean embassy in London for six years amid a legal battle that involves Sweden, the UK and the US.
The Aussie — who lives in London — got himself into hot water for leaking US classified information, then in 2010 during a trip to Sweden, he was accused of complaints of rape and molestation by two women, accusations that he denied.
After Interpol issued a notice for his arrest, the UK courts ruled Assange needed to go to Sweden to face the charges.
However the 47-year-old argued that if he went, he could face possible extradition to the US over the leaked documents and as a result he sought asylum.
Ecuador granted him asylum in August 2012, but if he ever sets foot outside the embassy building, Britain will deport him to Sweden. He has been inside the embassy ever since.
Despite being stuck, Pamela and Julian have become unlikely friends, with the star visiting him regularly. Other stars to have shown him support during this time include, Yoko Ono and Lady Gaga.
