Lindsay Lohan Makes “View” Audience Burst Into Applause by Sneaking “Mean Girls” Line Into Conversation
Lohan wants to be "a cool mom," of course
Lindsay Lohan offered a nod to the her starring role in the 2004 film Mean Girls during an interview on The View, saying she wants to be "a cool mom" — a line that delighted the live audience for the talk show.
During an appearance on The View on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 38-year-old Lohan said "it feels great" to be a mom, adding, "My son is, like, my life. Every morning, I take a picture of him when he wakes up. I have too many pictures but I want to see how he changes every day."
She continued: "There's just so much love. Everything he does is so exciting, every day, and I want to capture it every day."
When co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected, "Just wait til he turns 20," Lohan said, "Oh no, I'll be nice, I'll be nice. I'll be a cool mom," eliciting cheers and laughter from the audience.
The "cool mom" comment references an iconic line from Mean Girls, when Regina George's mom (played by Amy Poehler) says, "There are no rules in this house, okay? I'm not like a regular mom. I'm a cool mom!"

Lohan welcomed her son, Luai Shammas, in 2023 with her husband, Bader Shammas. While she took a break from acting, Lohan has recently been busy, filming and promoting several projects, including one of Netflix's latest Christmas offerings, Our Little Secret,
Of making another Christmas movie (she previously starred in Netflix's 2022 film Falling for Christmas), Lohan told PEOPLE she appreciates the "certain magic that brings people together."
"I’ve been fortunate enough to see how they become part of families’ traditions, and I still get so much joy from being part of something that can uplift people during such a special time of year," she said of holiday entertainment.
The film also stars Lohan's Mean Girls costar Tim Meadows, as well as Kristin Chenoweth, who plays meddling mom Erica.
Said Lohan, "The best part of working with this cast was the energy and camaraderie on set. Everyone brought something unique, and there was a real sense of teamwork. Having been in the business for so long, I’ve learned that when the cast clicks, it makes the process that much more enjoyable, and this group really had that chemistry."
