The Voice coaches and viewers were in tears during Tuesday night’s episode after one contestant’s “incredible” Blind Audition, with many saying they have what it takes to win the competition. Skÿe, 26, received four chair turns after performing Billie Eilish’s song ‘What Was I Made For?’ from the Barbie soundtrack.

All four superstar coaches fought to have Skÿe on their team, with Kate Miller-Heidke describing his voice as “transcendent”, “angelic” and “freakishly beautiful”. Adam Lambert also said that he was “blown away” by his vocal abilities and didn’t expect to see him when he turned around.

“Technically speaking, I love that you can give breath and falsetto, but then I heard you leaning into these bigger notes and then you flipped into your falsetto again and it was just so effortless and so artful,” he remarked. “I think that you are poised to do something really great and really special.”

Guy Sebastian, who is the only returning coach this season and won the show in 2021 with his contestant Bella Taylor Smith, added that Skÿe is a “coach’s dream”.

“Technically you’re brilliant, vocally it was stunning and you’ve got this real humility and groundedness about you,” he shared. “But your true superpower is the fact that you’re unique. It just gives you room to be Skÿe and be unapologetic about it and just do you and explore where that will go with no boundaries.”

Skÿe ended up choosing to join Guy’s team, with the other coaches admitting that he would be “hard to beat”.

Fans took to social media following the episode to applaud Skÿe’s performance, with many describing it as “beautiful”, “phenomenal”, “magnificent” and “stunning”.

“Skÿe you honestly have one of the most beautiful voices I’ve heard,” one person wrote, while another added, “I’ll be voting for you. You have a voice that’s out of this world”.

“You are AMAZING!!! I am so glad you chose @guysebastian. You are in the best hands. Cannot wait to see what you do together,” one fan declared.

Former winners of The Voice also shared their support for Skÿe, with 2021 champion Bella Taylor Smith commenting: “WOOOOOHOOOOO”

Last year’s winner Tarryn Stokes, who was coached by Rita Ora, also said: “My gosh made me cry! So so heartfelt!”

Skÿe is a 26-year-old singer from Melbourne, Victoria who admitted before his audition on The Voice that he was once an extremely shy child who was afraid to share his voice with anyone. His mother and teacher ended up enrolling him in singing lessons which spurred his confidence and encouraged him to take part in the TV competition.

“I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and hopefully it rewards me,” he said.
