Time to panic - Australia is experiencing a Nutella shortage!

And Melbournians are to blame.

The chocolate hazelnut spread has become so popular as a doughnut filling in Melbourne’s bakeries and patisseries that it’s led to a shortage of the catering size versions of the jars.

As a result, Melbourne bakeries have been buying up all the Nutella from supermarkets, leaving consumers without their favourite spread.

The commercial-sized tubs are expected to remain out of stock until new supplies arrive in the country late next week.
