A Lavish Belle Époque-Style Estate in the Heart of the French Riviera Lists for $24 Million
The French Riviera is synonymous with azure waters, fabulous pebbled beaches, and small but glamorous towns filled with splendid mansions. Favored by aristocracy, dignitaries, and jetsetters, there are few places on earth that offer such an array of ultra-luxury experiences and offerings, from bobbing around the Mediterranean on a superyacht to Michelin-starred dining to designer shopping to hedonistic beach clubbing.
Those looking for a more permanent place to rest their heads are spoiled for spectacular choices when it comes to the Côte d’Azur, a 550-mile stretch along France’s southern coast from St. Tropez to Monaco and beyond. Smack dab in the middle of it all, perched above the center of Cannes and a highly sought-after area by international billionaires, is Super-Cannes. Here, at the quiet end of a street, this $23.9 million home was completely redesigned and updated in 2014 by LC Architects. The property is co-listed by Douglas Elliman and Knight Frank.

As part of the renovations, the villa was transformed to reflect the Belle Époque style, a period of history that started in France and filtered throughout Europe from the mid-1800s to World War I. Belle Époque architecture is prevalent throughout the South of France, and the opulent style includes layer upon layer of architectural flourishes like elaborate stucco friezes, ornate awnings, railings, and cupolas, and flat roofs atop symmetrical structures.
Sitting on just over half an acre of lush, flat land, this Super-Cannes residence spans nearly 6,500 square feet and has seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms across three levels. The embellished white façade features ornate columns, a grand staircase, and several terraces. The palace-like pad opens with a large entrance hall that leads to a grand living area, an elegant dining room, and a French-style kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, bespoke pale-green cabinetry, and an eat-in center island. Nearly every room in the house has far-reaching views over Cap d’Antibes and the glittering ocean, and, when duty calls, there’s a home office.
Four of the bedrooms, including two spacious primary suites, are located on the upper level. Each bedroom is designed with a unique color palette, but they all have private terraces accessed via French doors. There are two additional bedrooms on the lower level, along with a movie theater, a walk-in wine cellar, and dedicated staff quarters.
Outside, there’s an oversized in-ground pool facing the Mediterranean, plus a deck for loungers, amid pristine lawns and manicured plantings. And, of course, the entire property is protected with an enhanced security system.
The villa is just a conveniently short distance from the glitzy hustle and bustle of downtown Cannes—it’s less than 15 minutes to La Petite Maison—but when the circus comes to town—that would be the annual Cannes Film Festival—it is a world away, a quiet retreat from all the yacht parties and red carpet hubbub.
