Lauren Graham Just Offered Up a Major 'Gilmore Girls' Update About Luke and Lorelai

It smells like snow. If not where you are then at least in Stars Hollow, where Luke and Lorelai are still bickering about her daily coffee intake, at least according to the new Gilmore Girls Walmart reunion ad. And don’t worry, though the ad doesn’t explicitly weigh in on their relationship status, Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham confirms: Luke and Lorelai are still going strong in 2024.

“They’re definitely still together,” Lauren said in an interview with E! News, though she was quick to note that the truth lies only with show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. In the Walmart ad, Luke (Scott Patterson) receives a package from Kirk (Sean Gunn), which turns out to be an espresso machine for Lorelai (Lauren)—though why he couldn’t just get it delivered to her house remains unclear.

The clip ends with Luke and Lorelai, now carrying what I can only assume is a heavy package, standing outside Luke’s Diner, staring up at the snowy sky. Considering Luke is still funding Lorelai’s caffeine addiction and the loving look they share at the end, the ad definitely implies the iconic will-they-won’t-they pair are still together, but it still helps to have it confirmed by Lorelai herself!

But what about Rory (Alexis Bledel), or Logan (Matt Czuchry), or Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), or Dean (Jared Padalecki)? Just kidding, nobody cares about Dean, but it doesn’t matter anyway because Lauren kept her updates vague even where Rory is concerned, adding, “I don’t know what sort of grandchildren situation there might be, but I think we’re living happily in town.” In case you forgot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, the 2016 limited revival, ended with Rory announcing her pregnancy, causing many fans to theorize about the identity of Rory’s baby daddy.

As of right now, there aren’t any plans for another Gilmore Girls revival, so we might never find out how Rory’s motherhood journey is going. But in the meantime, at least fans can rest easy knowing Lorelai and Luke are still living in wedded bliss. And, if you’re still missing Stars Hollow, you can always rewatch the best GG episodes, or just watch the Walmart reunion ad over and over and over again! No judgment.
