Lainey Wilson to Perform at the Dallas Cowboys' Halftime Show on Thanksgiving
"It's an honor to follow in the footsteps of legendary performers like my friend Dolly Parton, the Jonas Brothers, and Reba," said Wilson
Lainey Wilson is ready to celebrate Thanksgiving in Arlington, Texas!
The Louisiana native, 32, will spend the holiday in the Lone Star State to perform at The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.
"You might know me for my bell-bottoms, but I want to be known for my bell-ringing, too. I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with The Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round," said Wilson while announcing the news next to the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders in a video posted online on Sunday, Oct. 13.
"Tune in to watch me and a special guest this Thanksgiving on Fox. We're gonna kick off the season right," she added.

The halftime show marks the official start of The Salvation Army's annual fundraiser, which helped support services for more than 27 million people in America last year.
Being that the game, which last year featured a halftime show performance from Dolly Parton and drew in 42 million viewers, it is no surprise that Wilson was called upon for the job.
"Performers like Lainey Wilson represent the next generation of role models for so many,” said Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and former national advisory board chairperson for The Salvation Army, in a press release.

“We are so thankful to have her energy and enthusiasm on our national stage this year to highlight the Red Kettle Kickoff and the importance of giving back to those who need it most," continued Jones.
In addition to be joined by a surprise guest, fans can expect to see Wilson perform songs from her fifth studio album, Whirlwind, released in August.
The country music superstar has kept busy all year with projects, including her Hulu special Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country, her Country’s Cool Again Tour, and her jewelry capsule collection with Kendra Scott.
