According to The Smoking Gun, the restaurant inspection, which was held on October 2, resulted in eight separate sanitary violations, with six being rated as "critical".

The infractions included food not being protected from potential sources of contamination, inadequate personal cleanliness, food workers not using proper utensils to eliminate bare hand contact with food and insufficient washing of food preparation surfaces.

The October 2 inspection was a follow up from an August inspection by the Department of Health, in which the restaurant received five critical infractions.

So what does this mean for the Germanotta family restaurant? While the restaurant has received 42 points (28 point receives a "C grade" and allegedly is the kiss of death for restaurants), Joanne Trattoria is yet to receive a rating based on this incident. The jury is out until an official grade is given by the Department of Health.

The restaurant, which opened on the Upper West Side of New York in February this year, was named after Lady Gaga's late aunt Joanne Germanotta (with whom she also shares her name -- Stefanie Joanne Germanotta is Gaga's real name).

Joanne Trattoria was also in the news recently after Lady Gaga blamed her parent's restaurant for her 11 kilogram weight gain.
