Kyle Sandilands sensationally storms off radio show after on-air rant: 'Bulls**t drama'

Kyle Sandilands was missing from most of his radio show on Wednesday morning after he sensationally stormed out of the studio following an expletive-laden rant live on air.

Just after 6am, the shock jock appeared to lose his temper, following a discussion about former NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian's leaked texts calling Prime Minister Scott Morrison a "complete psycho" and a "fraud".

“This is the biggest news in Australia, and it’s all over nothing. So what if the ex-Premier called the prime minister a horrible, horrible person? I’ve called everyone here an effing c in text messages. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gladys was just pacifying whatever loser Minister she was talking to," Kyle said.

“This is not real news. Don’t make up fictitous bulls**t drama over nothing.... I’m angry. This is the way the world has been ruined – by d***heads on the news turning these things into bulls**t moments."

Meanwhile, newsreader Brooklyn Ross tried to counter: "Can I tell you why we care?"

Kyle then started hurling insults at his co-host Jackie O Henderson and Brooklyn as they continued to discuss the story's newsworthiness.

"You just show how dumb you all are, you idiots," Kyle said.

“Oh my god, what’s up with you this morning?” Jackie O questioned.

Things escalated when Brooklyn again tried to offer his opinion, with Kyle blasting the journalist: "Just turn your mic off ***. You’re finished! Get out!"

“Are you serious? I don’t understand," a clearly shocked Jackie O said.

“I’m going home, F**K you. Do the show by yourself, what a f**king show it’ll be,” Kyle concluded, storming out of the studio.

“OK, I think we’ll take a short break, because I’m not even sure what happened. Did something happen before I got here? Was it all good?” Jackie O asked.

Brooklyn Ross ended up co-anchoring the show alongside Jackie O for the rest of the morning, with Jackie calling the whole thing "very dramatic".

After giving a speech at the National Press Club of Australia the prime minister was questioned by Channel 10 political editor Peter Van Onselen who claimed he had obtained private text messages sent between former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian and an unnamed Liberal cabinet minister.

He then read them aloud to the prime minister in front of the audience at the press club.
