Controversial radio hosts Kyle and Jackie O have made their Melbourne debuts with a profane, pre-dawn opener covering everything from STIs to racial diversity.

The top-rated radio duo took to Victorian airwaves on Monday for the first time since signing a whopping $200m 10-year contract with station KIIS FM.

Heralding Monday’s broadcast as a “big day for us”, Sandilands, 52, introduced himself to listeners as an “ex-f**k boy” and a “coke-sniffing a***hole”.

The lurid introduction only grew from there, with discussion shifting to Jackie O Henderson being “STI free”, sexual preferences, and the racially diverse crew.

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross introduced himself as having “famously had a few STIs”, while manager Bruno Bouchet told listeners about his sexual proclivities.

Despite the sexually explicit introduction, the pair’s arrival in Victoria was welcomed by call-in listeners, commentators online and fellow Australian celebrities.

Former Biggest Loser fitness trainer Michelle Bridges wrote on Instagram on Monday: “Just listened to your first 30 mins. What a great start. Killed it.”

Others heralded the maiden Melbourne show, writing “the king and queen have arrived”, “best 6am show opener ever”, and “welcome to Melbourne”.

The move also promised to shake up Melbourne's radio scene, with Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick last week raising the prize for their “secret sound” competition to $150,000.

It came after a weeks-long media campaign by Sandilands and Henderson that included newspaper ad spreads, Instagram promotion, and more

Sandilands praised the launch in an Instagram video on Monday morning as a realisation of a “20 year dream of going national … One city at a time”.

The duo’s account was filled with video of the hosts and staff partying in the studio after their first Melbourne show, including with a DJ and party lights.
