Kyle and Jackie O Show plunged into chaos as they are forced off air

"Sorry, we've been off-air for an hour."

The Kyle and Jackie O Show was left in chaos on Friday morning as the hosts were forced off air shortly after one of their producers quit the show unexpectedly.

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson were left surprised when their producer Kayla quit the show, with the shock jock spilling his coffee over the panel, taking the show off the air.

This forced the show off air for almost an hour, with technicians working on getting them back.

The hosts had to move to another studio, with Kyle telling the listeners, "We're in a weird studio because I knocked coffee all down the computers. Non-binary Kayla came in and gave me the very sad news."

"They're abandoning us to live their own life. As they were handing the coffee over I grabbed it and was in such shock I spilt it all over the equipment."

However, once they were back in their regular studio, Jackie said that she didn't think it was just Kyle spilling the coffee that took them off air.

"You may have noticed, sorry, we've been off-air for an hour," Jackie said, with Kyle joking the radio station was "half broken". "It wasn't just you, I don't think, Kyle, with the coffee."

"Something crazy is going on here; none of our studios work, the censor machine is beeping, it's just crazy," she added.

"It's dumping the show, it's beeping unnecessary things, we moved to the second studio here at KIIS FM, that also failed, now we're back in the original studio, with some weird set up, with wires everywhere," Kyle said.

"It's like we're on M*A*S*H, it's like we're in an army tent, and we've got some little box here that's apparently broadcasting to air," Jackie added with a laugh.

It comes following reports Kyle and Jackie O have secured a $200 million deal to continue their KIIS 106.5 breakfast show with ARN for another 10 years.

According to The Financial Review, the pair will also now take on the Melbourne market for the first time ever – with The Kyle & Jackie O Show set to syndicate there as early as next year.
