Krispy Kreme's 'Revolutionary' New Item Has Fans Begging for It to Be 'Dropped Here in the US' Immediately
We love it when our favorite brands take risks in the name of satisfying our cravings. We especially love how the internet can influence dining trends worldwide. While some of our favorite creations have stood the test of time (here’s looking at you Sprite Tropical Mix), others have replaced old favorites that once were discontinued.
In the constant ebb and flow of fast food snack and beverage creation, there’s bound to be a few questionable decisions made along the way. It’s not easy satisfying the masses, and most of our favorite restaurants work tirelessly to create something new on a seasonal basis. This week, however, Krispy Kreme in Guatemala reminded everyone just how important a second set of eyes can be for the good of the product.

“What's the matter, you haven't touched that warm and gooey Doughkie I dropped for you,” @snackolator joked in a post shared to Instagram.

The “Doughkie” in question is a doughnut stuffed with a chocolate chip cookie, exclusively available at Krispy Kreme locations in Guatemala. And while the treat sounds like a wonderful combination of two iconic desserts, this match made in heaven has unfortunately been soured with a seriously questionable name.
“Cute name,” one person wrote, daring not to write the hilariously suggestive name themselves. “Not the dookie,” another wrote, getting straight to the point. And while we joined right in with laughter over this extremely unfortunate misstep, one commenter chimed in with at least some form of maturity:

“The name may be horrible, but I would personally kill for a warm half baked chocolate chip cookie inside a warm glazed donut...I might also die early of diabetes, but it would be worth it.”
While we can certainly agree with the first part of that statement, this is one special release you can guarantee won’t make it to the States unless it receives a seriously thoughtful name change. Until then, if you want to try a warm and gooey Doughkie for yourself, you’re going to half to book that summer trip to Guatemala a bit early.
