Whether you’re brightening up your living room or adding extra function to your working-from-home space, there’s not much a Kmart item can’t do when it comes to stepping up your home decor. While most products have a specific purpose in the home like the viral $1.75 can strainer, shoppers have been going wild over a $15 bathroom item that they use to add extra storage space in the kitchen.

Kmart’s 3 Tier Floor Caddy is designed to organise toiletries and save floor space either in the shower or the bathroom. However, plenty of people have found it works best in the kitchen - especially if you buy two.

One woman shared a photo in a popular Facebook group on Thursday showing how they used two caddies to make a coffee station on their kitchen bench that’s both aesthetically pleasing and highly useful.

“This might just be my favourite Kmart hack,” they captioned the snap

The shopper cut off the handles and used two pieces of timber from Bunnings to connect the items, placing various mugs, plants and canisters on the tiers to decorate. They also managed to neatly tuck away the kettle and toaster in between the caddies under the lower wooden plank.

“What a great idea,” one person commented, while another added, “That is so cool”.

“Looks great!” someone else remarked, with others calling the finished result “awesome”, “brilliant” and “perfect”.

This woman certainly isn’t the first shopper to use the caddy in the kitchen, with Kmart’s product page being flooded with positive reviews from shoppers who used it in similar ways.

“As soon as I heard about this Kmart hack on FB, where these bathroom caddies were used to increase storage space on kitchen benches (sometimes with a shelf between them), I realised that this was exactly what I needed,” one person shared. “I’ve joined the bandwagon and now my storage jars for tea, coffee, sugar, mugs, tissues and plants go UP instead of spreading out.”

“I needed something for the kitchen and this works perfectly and fits exactly where I need it. I have used it as bench top storage and it works well,” a different user wrote.

“Love these caddies and great price. Sit on my kitchen bench in my very small kitchen with not enough cupboard space. Love them,” a third remarked.

Others also shared different ways they use the caddy around the house, with one person describing it as the “perfect alternative to a fruit bowl”.

“We use ours instead of a fruit bowl. Fruit is stored separately and easily accessible to the kids,” they commented.

“Such a good amount of space to store books and knick-knacks - can move around easily and look great,” another wrote, followed by someone else who said, “Amazing desk shelving hack!”.

“Great caddy! I got 2. One for the shower and one for our BBQ table to organise all the table clutter. Looks great in both spots and fitted everything I needed it to!” another shopper shared.
