Kmart shoppers left defeated over popular Christmas present: 'Super frustrating'
A popular Lego dupe from Kmart has left many Aussies stressed out over the festive season.
Kmart shoppers have been left frustrated with a popular Christmas present, with many losing patience when building the toy. The Anko mini blocks building set is a dupe of Lego products and retails at $39 at Kmart — with similar sets at Lego retailing for hundreds of dollars.
One shopper uploaded a photo of a cruise ship building set she bought her teen son, and expressed dismay at their struggles to put it together due to the lack of instructions on the set.
"Just wondering if anyone else has this and has successfully put it together. My son is 16, can do Technic Lego, and he cannot put this together. No written instructions, just pictures which don't help," the shopper wrote.

The query for help had over 100 comments with many people expressing similar frustrations about the product and the hacks they used to try and put it together. "I did it. Took me 8 hours, then I spray-glued it together," one person shared.
"Don't do it. Worth paying the extra money for actual Lego. I found all the mini blocks super frustrating, nothing stayed where it should and the instructions aren't that great. I've got a few more sets to finish and won't be purchasing anymore," someone else ranted.

"It’s not the boat, but this is as far as my hubby has been able to get with the cherry blossom tree, he uses Lego to destress and relax - this one has broken him," another person joked.
"My mum got the pug one and the instructions are the worst. I have put it together and taken sections apart multiple times. I find counting to try and find where it goes works to some point. The ship will look amazing when it's done," someone else said.
"It's harder than Lego but once you learn how to read the instructions/pictures it becomes a little less frustrating!" another shared. "I put one of the tiny flower pots together a few days ago and asked my husband to never buy me any of their stuff again."

A few had success with putting the product together and shared their results.
"My other half did it after much cursing and swearing lol," someone shared. "Although he has one side out a little bit."
"I have done it. It’s about fiddly with the small parts but is doable," someone commented. "My hubby has built that one and builds them all the time. He says that once you get the base levels done the other levels are easier," another said. "He also said lots of the manuals are online so you can expand them bigger to see exactly what’s in the pictures."
