Some Kmart shoppers have issued a warning over a common household cleaning product, saying it's not worth the cost, with one person saying it was such a waste of money they threw it out.

The $30 3-in-1 mop and bucket set from the budget retailer has a 4.6 out of 5 star rating online, but in a recent post on a Facebook group after someone excitedly shared they bought the mop, others were quick to chime in with warnings about the cleaning item saying it wasn't all that it's cracked up to be.

At $30, the 3-in-1 set is pretty cheap and people on the Kmart website have said its easy to use and better for storage that some other sets from competitors.

But in a popular Facebook group, the comments weren't as positive, with many deeming it a waste of money.

"I have one and I hate mine," one person remarked. While hate may seem like a strong word, another person agreed. "I hate mine and the pad ripped so easily," they echoed.

While many agreed it wasn't worth the hype, some shoppers did find success when it came to cleaning their walls with the mop, while others said they "couldn't fault" the product.

"It's only good for cleaning walls, slips on floor boards then will scratch," one person warned. "Initially got one to clean walls, now they are all I use," another said. "I must have been lucky with mine, never had an issue."
