What Game Is Kevin from ‘The Office’ Playing? Bush's Beans

Actor Brian Baumgartner is best known for his role as Kevin on The Office, and one of his most memorable scenes of all time is that episode when Kevin brings his “famous” chili to the office (if you haven’t thought about rewatching the clip in a while, you’re welcome).

Fans of the actor will remember there’s some truth in the classic scene. Baumgartner is a chili connoisseur in real life, and now he’s teaming up with Bush’s Beans to debut Chop. Drop. Chili!, a new game that home cooks can play with the fam in 30 minutes, about the amount of time it takes for a batch of chili to simmer on the stovetop.

You might say it’s a dinnertime game changer. For ages 8+, the game features potential chili ingredients (jalapeño, onion, tomato, poultry, beef, and cheese) on dice, which players “chop” when they pick up three and “drop” when they roll.

The ingredients on the dice correspond to matching ones on cards in various combinations of three (along with one of the four varieties of Bush’s Chili Magic chili starter, making each game card also a recipe card).

When the dice are rolled (excuse me—when the ingredients are chopped and dropped), the race is on for players to slap upturned cards that match the ingredients on the dice.

The goal is to collect five recipe cards (or nab the coveted Instant Win card with all six ingredients) to win. In the process, you and your crew may well be tempted by a card’s ingredient combo enough to try it on your next family chili/game night.

“Time spent with family is my favorite part of the day, but doing it with a warm bowl of chili? Even better,” Baumgartner says. “Chili Magic is a convenient shortcut to homemade chili, and Chop. Drop. Chili! helps us make Chili night even more special. Quality family time, a delicious meal and some laughs along the way—everyone wins!”

Bush’s Chili Magic is available in four varieties: Classic Homestyle, Campfire Style, Hearty Heat, and the newest addition, Slow-Simmered White. However, the Chop. Drop. Chili! game ($3 at shop.bushbeans.com) is only available while supplies, so you might want to chop-chop if you want to Chop. Drop. Chili!
