A Fan-Favorite Trader Joe's Super Bowl Dip

Kate said you need to make this dip, and we have to agree.

"Trust me. I take this everywhere," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post. "It gets devoured every time and people beg for the recipe. They are always blown away when I say it’s only TWO INGREDIENTS!! You can quite literally beef it up with sausage, but you don’t need to."

Did she really say two ingredients? We're listening.

You can get the full recipe on her Instagram page, but you'll need one block of cream cheese and one jar of corn salsa. She specifically mentions Trader Joe's corn salsa, but she also mentions that other grocery stores (including her local chain, Harris Teeter) sometimes make a similar corn salsa in-house.

Microwave the cream cheese for about 45 seconds, dump the corn salsa on top, then stir everything together. Microwave the mixture another 30 seconds and stir again. If still feels lukewarm, microwave another 30 seconds until it's piping hot.

The Trader Joe's Version

Trader Joe's calls its version of this dip the Kickin' Corn Dip and it's a recipe they say was developed in their test kitchen.

"Our tasters simply couldn't get enough of it," they wrote on their site.

This recipe "takes three cheeses to create its creamy base: velvety cream cheese, spicy Pepper Jack, and our finely shredded Mexican Blend for superb meltability," so it does require a bit more ingredients, but it's also simple to put together. Keep in mind that it does take 40 minutes to make, though.

You will need the cheese listed above, plus TJ's Cowboy Caviar Salsa and TJ's Roasted Corn.

Preheat the oven to 375° degrees. Grease a baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.

Now you'll follow the steps listed in Kate's recipe to create the base of this dip. Add the other cheeses and stir to combine. Scrape the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with more cheese.

Bake until the dip is browned and bubbling, which should take about 30 minutes. Cool slightly before digging in.

Both of these seem like wonderful Super Bowl dips—or dips for a late snack craving— but one is faster and cheaper to make, so choosing the one to make all comes down to how much time and money you want to spend on it.
